Two Skis

This gouache painting was made from life and captures a quiet moment on a winter chairlift. From my seat, I looked down at my skis floating above the fresh snow as the lift moved slowly forward through the frost-covered trees. Working directly from life, I focused on the feeling of gentle motion, cold air and muted winter light. This painting captures a brief instant between movement and stillness — the calm, intimate moment of being carried through the winter landscape.
