Toward the Mountains

This painting was created after a winter carriage ride in a park near Filzmoos. As we slowly drove along the snow-covered road, the landscape opened toward the distant Alpine peaks, and the calm rhythm of the horses conveyed a peaceful sense of travelling through the winter landscape. In this work I wanted to give the viewer the feeling of sitting in the carriage and looking out between the horses as the road leads deeper into the valley. The warm tones of the horses contrast with the cool light of snow and mountains, capturing the clear air, the soft winter colours and the peaceful atmosphere of an alpine day. The scene reflects a moment of simple beauty — a traditional carriage ride through a snowy landscape, where nature, movement and stillness come together.
