The Wave

This work was created in Alanya, Turkey, right by the sea, outdoors, where I stood fully in the rhythm of the waves. My intention was to capture the breath of the water — that fleeting moment when a wave rises, gathers strength and gently dissolves into spray. This painting is about presence — a quiet dialogue between movement and stillness, in which the sea seems to breathe. When I look at this picture, I remember the breath of the sea, the waves and the anticipation — how high will it be, will it reach me? It also conveys the wonderful mood of painting outdoors together with the other girls.
