Sunlit Amaryllis

While I was painting the flower, someone was painting me — and in that moment I felt wonderfully revealed and alive. Then, almost as if by magic, the sun burst into the room and outshone the studio light in just a minute. A deep, dramatic shadow appeared that moved me so strongly that I painted it instinctively. This artwork captures that moment exactly as I experienced it: the flower, the sunlight, the shadow and the feeling of being seen — gentle, unexpected and true.
