Peonies on the Balcony

These peonies were originally bought to paint a small wedding card from life — just a quick gouache sketch. But their delicate beauty and the play of sunlight on the petals were simply irresistible. In the end, I created not only the card but also this oil painting. Captured on a quiet afternoon, this work reflects the joy and spontaneity of working from life.
