This painting is part of a series of six plein-air works created during a ski trip. Despite the wintry conditions, I painted directly in nature, returning each time to the same spot in the forest. Although the vantage point stayed the same, the atmosphere and the state of nature were constantly changing. Snow, skiing, fresh mountain air and the quiet beauty of the Alps are reflected in emotion, movement and expressive brushstrokes. This work is about the feeling of freedom, calm and joy that only the Austrian winter landscape can convey.
