Bay Sketch before the Storm

This is a quick plein-air gouache sketch, painted directly from life aboard a catamaran during an overnight stay in a remote bay. That night, a sudden rainstorm took us by surprise. The finished work even fell into the salt water — yet it dried undamaged, and the colours now appear even brighter and more vivid. The painting captures not only the landscape but also the atmosphere of spontaneity and adventure, making it a unique work with a story of its own.
